Maximiliano Battaglia is an Uruguayan/Italian filmmaker, photographer, and educator. His practice of experimental documentary is aimed at conjecture rather than generating knowledge, for which he resorts to hybrid practices that favor imagination, manipulation and subjective experiences. His approach to image-making is layered and polycentric allowing for poetically intertwined realities to emerge.
Maximiliano holds a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography and Image-making from the Paris College of Art where he's currently Adjunct Faculty  in the photography department.

His video work as director of photography has been selected to film festivals such as Beijing Indie Short Film Festival, Cambodia International Film Festival (CIFF), Dock of the Bay Music Documentary Film Festival, and Fall for Dance North International Dance Festival.
