Maximiliano Battaglia is an Uruguayan-Italian filmmaker, photographer and educator based between Paris, Montevideo, and Phnom Penh. He holds an MFA in Photography and Image-making from the Paris College of Art and a BA in Mandarin Chinese from the Beijing Language and Culture University.
His work in film a has been selected in festivals such as Festival de Cine Nuevo Uruguay, Cambodia International Film Festival, Fall for Dance North International Dance Festival, Fashion Film Festival Amsterdan, and Dock of the Bay Music Documentary Film Festival.
In 2023 he started the artist collective Abrazo de Gol with Gaby David PhD and as a duo they recieved the 2024 research-creation grant of the Institut pour la photographie Hauts-de-France. He also started the film collective TRACHEA alongside artists Helena Ernst and Ponita Keo.

Realizador audiovisual, fotógrafo y educador uruguayo con una práctica experimental y documentalista, radicado entre Montevideo, Phnom Penh y París. Es egresado del Paris College of Art, donde obtuvo una maestría (MFA) en fotografía y creación de imagen, y de la Universidad de Lengua y Cultura de Beijing con una licenciatura en idioma chino tras recibir una beca de estudios completa.
Su obra personal y colaboraciones artísticas han sido proyectadas y expuestas internacionalmente (en Francia, Canadá, Camboya, China, Estados Unidos, Países Bajos y España) en el marco de festivales de cine y exposiciones.
Inició en 2023, junto a Gaby David PhD, el colectivo artístico Abrazo de Gol y recibieron como dúo en 2024 una beca de creación artística e investigación del Instituto de la fotografía de Hauts-de-France. Recientementé también inició el colectivo audiovisual TRACHEA films junto a las artistas Helena Ernst y Ponita Keo.
