In a personal, political contemplation, a filmmaker searches for the meaning of silence—only to discover its impossibility. Beginning with images of the everyday and the ethereal, his attention is called to the attempted silencing that still haunts his homeland: the disappeared detainees of the Uruguayan dictatorship.
